INTERVIEW: JARRET KENNEDY
How did you first get into modeling? And how long have you been modeling?
I’ve been modeling almost 10 years. My brother was a photographer as a kid so we would always do test shoots for fun. Then the Facebook era began and he posted the pics. From there I was scouted.
What’s your most memorable shoot?
Most memorable shoot was on a safari in South Africa shooting for a German brand named finch & hatton. We shot along side many exotic animals many in which I had always wanted to see in person.
What’s the biggest misconception about the male modeling industry?
Biggest misconception is we all really watch what we eat meticulously. There are some guys who super intense with their diet but I’d say most of us eat just as much or more than the average male.
What are your other passions outside of modeling?
My true passion is traveling and flipping houses. I currently have a few projects on the go and plan on continuing the real estate industry.
What do you do to stay in shape?
Staying in shape for me consist of running 8-10 miles, 5 days a week. I’ve never been a big gym guy but I still try to make it a couple days a week.
What are the top five items every man should have in his wardrobe?
– different styles of sneakers
-A good sports jacket
– different colours / styles of belts
– Couple of good suit for different seasons of the year
– at least two / three different styles of dress shoes
What is your advice to aspiring models?
Advice to models starting out is to be yourself at castings and work at getting better speaking in front of people. If you can exude confidence without seeming too cocky than you’re already ahead of the game and destined to land more jobs.
