HOW TO SET UP A PERFECT ITALIAN APERITIVO + SPRITZ RECIPE
No need to say how famous is italian food across the world, from pizza to pasta, from tasty coffee to delicious wine. There is no one so good to celebrate the pleasure of life and food as italians!
There is a very special moment of the day, called Aperitivo, it’s usually from 17 to 21, when all the bars are filled with delicious appetizers you can have with a glass of wine or cocktail. It’s a perfect way to end a day of work, to relax a bit with friends and eat something without necessary going to dinner.
Today we want to share with you how to set up a perfect aperitivo at home as well as the recipe of one of the most famous aperitivo’s cocktails, Spritz!
APERITIVO SET UP
Olives
Affettati ( all the types of salami, prosciutto ecc)
Cheese + Honey + Pear
Grapes + other fruit
Nuts
Bruschetta ( here is the recipe )
For food it’s better to choose something easy and not complicated, our favorite is a plate of affettati and cheese, that’s actually a must of every aperitivo.
Affettati, is an italian term to indicate all the types of meats from salami to prosciutto, speck and more. You can choose your favorites here! While for cheese take 2-3 types of them, a goat cheese will be perfect with honey and pear! MMMmmm…
Then don’t forget about olives and some kind of fruits, usually it would be grapes, figues, apricots or cherries, cause the small sized fruit it’s easier to eat without making disaster with fruit juice!
Another important part of an aperitivo is “What to drink?”. So to answer that question, every kind of wine is welcome and you can also get some bottle of sodas just to make happy who is not drinking. But our favorite and the most classical italian aperitivo drink is SPRITZ!
It’s super easy to make and so delicious! ( and also very photogenic!)
SPRITZ
Aperol
Sparkling water / soda
Ice
Slice of orange
Fill your glass with 3-4 cubes of ice, then add 1/3 of Aperol and 2/3 of sparkling water. Mix the cocktail with a spoon or a straw and then add a slice of orange!
